Here comes the Sun

After the rain… the Sun comes out!

The best time of the year to go to Hampstead Heath is definitively Autumn, specially on crisp sunny days between 5-10C, lots of sunshine and no wind thank you very much… ok, some wind on Parliament Hill so that the kite fliers can be happy.

The Heath is not your typical perfectly manicured park; it is actually relatively wild and a bit ‘free format’ and that is what makes it so beautiful. Also, it is not all flat; it has many hills – and benches to rest, no worries – and numerous footpaths (some muddier than others, so wellies are your best friends here).

In Autumn the colours are more intense, the air is very fresh and there is a normal amount of people around (in Summer it is really full). Some are walking their dogs, some are exercising vigorously (others barely, haha) and many are capturing with their cameras the beauty of the park and its ponds – there are around 30 of them overall including those north of Spaniards Road in the Heath Extension and the other bits.

Here are some photos of how lovely Hampstead Heath looked today.
